Competitive Team – Sport Karate
The DTAC Competitive Team is the premier sport karate program on Vancouver Island. Dedicated athletes receive focused training in kata and kumite under nationally certified coaches, with a proven pathway to provincial and national competition. This is not a recreational program—it is a high-performance environment built for athletes who want to compete and win.
Elite Coaching Access
DTAC competitive athletes train under Jenna Scott—Canadian National Team athlete (2025-2026), NCCP Competition Development certified, and 2027 Canada Games Apprentice Coach. Athletes also receive direct coaching from Pam Ross (Team Canada Coach and High Performance Chair, Karate BC) and Vanessa Restrepo (BC Provincial Team Coach and former Canadian National Team athlete). This level of coaching access is exceptional for any club in Canada, let alone one on Vancouver Island.
Proven Results
DTAC has produced four Canadian National Team athletes across two seasons—Jenna Scott and Samuel MacLeod in 2025, and Gage Smith and Nash Smith in 2026. Our athletes compete locally on Vancouver Island and progress to provincial and national stages through a structured, supported development pathway that produces real results at the highest levels of Canadian karate.
